Neglect of Science and Scientists

Prof JC Bose – the inventor of the Radio TWO years BEFORE Marconi plagiarised and stole the idea, who has been among India’s GREATEST scientists is also among many forgotten heroes !

Can Science and Innovation flourish in an environment wherein for decades Country’s top leadership has been ensuring that in order to get top honour, a Scientist has to be first a SYCOPHANT loyal to the TREACHEROUS leaders !

The TREACHEROUS failiure of successive Governments of pre- and post indepence Bharat to recognize and honour so many deserving great individuals, including Professor Jagadish Chandra Bose is testimony to the Gastly REALITY that the so called democratically elected Governments supposed to be truely representing the “People of Bharat”, have been taking care of their own interests… only and only THEIR OWN BENEFITs !

Awards are just one among many ways of honouring a person !

Deserving people should get DUE recognition…. including those who have been missed out for one reason or the other and those who are no more !

For example, one noble way of remembering and honoring a scientist of the caliber Prof JC Bose could be to create a World class Center of Excellence for advanced research on frontiers of Science in his name along with a corpus of funds large enough to make the Center self sustaining !

Apart from advanced research, another activity of the Center could be to identify and support talent in a transparent manner.

Please remember – by forgetting such great people and not recognizing their Achievements and Contributions, we have been doing a disservice to our own present day and future Society. Honouring and remembering is more a service to our society and efforts towards Nation Building with name of the great Scientist acting as a unique motivator !
